UPGRADING TO JAMSTIX 4

Here is some useful information for users upgrading from Jamstix 3 to the new Jamstix 4.

Free Upgrade

If you've purchased or upgraded to Jamstix 3 after August, 1st 2014, you are eligible for a free upgrade to Jamstix 4. Click on the SUPPORT button above and request your delivery email.

Paid Upgrade

If you are not eligible for the free upgrade, buy the $49 upgrade in our online store. All your existing expansions and MiniPaks will be included with the upgrade. We recommend you install the free version of Jamstix 4 first to make sure it runs fine on your system. It is very easy to upgrade from free to full version using the same manager tool.

Installation

When you receive your Jamstix 4 delivery email, download and run the linked Jamstix 4 Manager tool. When prompted, select the FULL version installation, copy/paste the customer key from your delivery email and click 'Connect'. You will now see a list of your installable products, including any expansions and MiniPaks you own.

Click 'Start Installation' and you will see a screen with installation options like the one below:

JAMSTIX DATA FOLDER

Select a data folder location that is on a large and fast drive. If you later want to move this folder, you can always run the manager, change the folder and the data will be copied for you.

USE JAMSTIX3 SOUND DATA

Check this box only if you are concerned with disk space usage and are planning to keep Jamstix 3 installed alongside of Jamstix 4.

INSTALL AI FILES ONLY WITHOUT SOUND DATA

Check this box only if you plan on never using the Jamstix internal drum sounds and will always use 3rd party drum plugins for sound.

64-bit VST

This box should be checked if you are using a 64-bit DAW with Jamstix. Click "Select Folder' to specify the folder where your DAW looks for plugins. If you need to change this later, just run the manager, click 'Options' and change the location.

32-bit VST

This box should be checked if you are using a 32-bit DAW with Jamstix. Click "Select Folder' to specify the folder where your DAW looks for plugins. If you need to change this later, just run the manager, click 'Options' and change the location.

64-bit AAX

This box should be checked if you are using Pro Tool 11 or higher with Jamstix.

Finalizing The Installation

After making your selections, click OK and the installation process will start. When finished, you will be logged out and you can now close the manager and start using Jamstix.
